Just beyond that is the Rio Grande National Forest, known for its elk, deer, antelope, beaver, bobcat, fox, pronghorn sheep, coyote, bald eagle, and they have re-introduced moose. San Luis State Park is about 20 miles north of the property. Smith Reservoir and Mountain Home Reservoir are within easy driving distance. The San Isabel National Forest is about 31 miles east of the property. You can visit the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and the Fort Garland Museum.

You will be around an hour's drive from several of Colorado's top ski resorts and Denver is only about a 4 hour drive away. Within minutes of your new property you will be able to fish, hunt, hike, backpack, bike, rock climb, camp, canoe, river raft, boat, four wheel drive, snowmobile, ski, golf, wildlife & bird watch, picnic, and almost anything else you like to do. Alamosa's population is 7,803 and it offers all fo the amenities of a larger city but will a small town flavor.
