Freedom To Live And Breathtaking Mountain Views In Hudspeth County
Hudspeth County is one of our favorite places. It's situated in far west Texas between El Paso County to the west and Culberson County to the east. This is a beautiful area. The air is clean, the water is clear, and there is basically no pollution and no crime here. The sunsets are as beautiful as you will ever see. The night sky is so clear you will be amazed by how many stars you can see.
The attitude is very much "live and let live". In the rural areas where our properties are located you are free to build or not build as you see fit. If you want to camp on your land, or park an RV, you can do so without restriction. There is no zoning. You can have a mobile home, prefabricated home, etc. This can be your perfect tiny home land. There is no Homeowners Association (HOA). There is no Property Owners Association (POA). There's just you, your freedom, and the beauty of nature. The climate is mild and dry, with an average minimum temperature of 30 degrees in January and an average maximum of 94 degrees in July.
Unlike most of Texas, just about anywhere you go in Hudspeth County you will enjoy beautiful mountain views. The area is home to the Eagle Mountain Range (Eagle Peak is 7,484 feet high), Cornudas Mountains, Quitman Mountains, Finlay Mountains, Hueco Mountains, Sierra Diablo Mountains, Carrizo Mountains, Devil Ridge, and more.
There is something here for everyone. For the hunter there are big horn sheep, mule deer, javelina, mountain lion, antelope, and dove. A short drive to the east is Guadalupe Mountains National Park in northwestern Culberson County. Here you will see El Capitan, Capitan Reef, and Guadalupe Peak which is the highest point in the state at 8,749 feet. Within an easy drive is the Rio Grande River, the spectacular scenic Big Bend National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, Hueco Tanks State Historical Park (over 3,500 paintings, most are pre-Columbus!), and several other parks and points of interest. The county seat of Sierra Blanca with its amenities is located along Interstate Highway 10.
Approximately 3,202 people live in Hudspeth County's 4,572 square miles. This is approximately 0.7 people per square mile. The United States average, including fairly desolate and huge Alaska, is about 94 people per square mile.
Whether you are looking to build off grid, or buy some vacation land, or just to invest in land while prices are still so low, this is a peaceful place with gorgeous mountain views. It is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle, and the crime and pollution, of urban life. This is desert land for sale. Some of it is in areas where water wells make sense, while in much of it you will be hauling in your water and storing it. Water is plentiful and inexpensive in Dell City and Van Horn.
